The mediation services in Hong Kong are widely used in different fields of disputes and gained affirmative impacts. In recent days, there are new rounds of discussion on developing new juvenile justice system to incorporate principles of restorative and re-integrative practices. Since 2007, Methodist Centre has adopted the Victim-Offender Mediation model and started a pilot project named Project Concord. By providing mediation services, the conflicts between the young persons, victims and their supporters can be resolved directly. The present seminar will cover the application of Victim-Offender Mediation on juvenile minor crimes and its development, benefits and potential development will also be discussed.
